Can I tell you something? How many people need to come to the point of decision? You need to come to the place of making a decision in your life. You need to decide… “Am I going to sit here till I die and not do anything with my life? I’m not going to really make a difference with my life. I’m just going to sit in the church or sit in humanity, and I’m just going to sit there.” What a sad way to live! In verse 4 it says, “Why do we sit here till we die?” Well, that’s a good start. They say, “Okay, we better get ourselves together and moving here.” The four men who were lepers were sitting there and they say, “If we say, ‘We will enter the city—then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there; and if we sit still here, we die also. So now come, let us go over to the army of the Syrians. If they spare us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.’ ”

That sounds a little fatalistic but it’s still a matter of them coming to reconcile something. They had to choose the road and the path they were on. God puts us on the road of life and we have to choose the direction that we’re going to go. God puts you on a path and you have to choose what you’re going to do. Are you going to get off the road? Are you going to stay on the road? What are you going to do? Are you going to take a detour? Are you going to be on that road and pursue, or are you going to sit there? Many in the church world are deciding just to sit there, and they’re going to die empty. They’ll die never satisfied. They’ll die never accomplishing. They’ll die in a sad state because they just sat on the road.

These guys were just sitting there and the leprosy was eating them. They said, “Well, shoot, man! What have we got to lose?” I believe in that 100%! What have you got to lose? Why not try God? Why not give to God? Why not sell your heart out to God? Why not tithe and give offering? Why not bring food? Why not serve in some capacity? You could sit there, and you’re going to die… Why not die while you’re serving? We need to come to that decision factor in our lives.
