Proverbs 29:18 , “Where there is no revelation the people cast off restraints.” What that word means is, or the correct way to say it would be, “Without prophetic revelation the people go unrestrained, walking in circles with no certain destiny.” Israel was in the desert for forty years and it was only an eleven day journey. Now, don’t you think they saw tracks of where they’d walked? You know, Levi left his pants there or there was a flip flop or something left there. There had to be a trail.

When you don’t have revelation you can walk down the path that is lit up like the yellow brick road and you can’t see it because you’re blind to the plan and purpose of God. All you see is your selfie and you can’t see the path. You can’t see the path of God even though it’s right there.

Paul had that. He got knocked down and a bright light shines. He ends up getting up and he’s blind because of the light, and he’s got scales on his eyes. God sends an old prophet in there. Paul was scared to death because he had been killing Christians, so he didn’t know if the guy was going to kill him. Then, the prophet says, “Paul, stop kicking against the pricks. God’s going to open your eyes.” And, boom! The scales fall off and Paul says, “Oh my! I’ve been fighting my God! Revelation will shock you back into reality!

Ephesians 1:17 (AMPC), “For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory, that he may grant you a spirit of wisdom and insight into mysteries and secrets in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him.”
