Ekklesia: Leviathan & Jezebel

The number one problem in the world, in the church and with God’s creation, is rebellion. We are rebels. Lucifer rebelled in Heaven and pride is what was thrown to the earth. Rebels. We are rebellious. We’re going to do it our way. We’ll do it the way we want to do it. We create God in our own image. If you’ve ever experienced pain of an unexpected relational meltdown, you’ve probably encountered the spirit of separation or the spirit of Leviathan. That’s a wicked spirit. Now, let’s go on from there.

God has definitely called us to war. He has anointed us with the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Thank the Lord for the power! Remember, He empowered us! Why is it that so many of God’s people come to church and are always in trouble? Always sick. Always broke. Always got a problem. Preachers have killed themselves because they get tired of listening to people’s problems. Well, you don’t need to get them solved because you don’t want to read the Word. Some of you have two and three Bibles in your house and you haven’t read it in six months. You say, “Preacher, you shouldn’t preach like that!” I know, I should get up here and say, “Y’all are all so nice and so sweet and so good. Bless you, bless you, bless you! Amen, let’s go home.” No! I’m too old now! I’m going to pick a fight. I used to box and I was good. I only lost one match and I don’t remember it, but when I woke up they told me I lost.

We must understand that we are in a war! He’s called us to war. He’s anointed us with the power of the Holy Spirit. This authority of the Lord is not just for guard duty, like the UN peace troops. It is a defensive posturing. It is an offensive posturing. The gates of Hell cannot stand the push of God’s Church! We must get the picture. The battles are outside, not inside. We must defeat every enemy that we are personally dealing with so we can go on the offense against the enemies of Christ. And, remember this! What enemies you don’t defeat in your life you will pass them on to your children and your children, through iniquity, will be dealing with the same lust and the same crime and the same greed that you’ve had. The rebellion that’s in your house and in your life, you’re going to sow it into your children. “Oh no! I wouldn’t do that!” Mark it down! The Bible says that iniquity was found in their heart.

We’re conquerors, not pacifists!
