A Divine Disruption

Now, I could take a long time on that. I’m going to come by it in a minute so fast you better be ready to have your head on a swivel and look! Verse 8, “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.”

Now, watch this! He told the disciples in the Gospels that He gave them authority. He said, “I send you out two by two and I give you authority over all demons and everything. But now He’s not giving them authority. He already gave them a position. Now, He’s giving them operational. He’s now empowering what He gave them authority to have. Because He said that he was going to give them dunamis. That’s the Greek word for power. I’m going to give you power. You already have authority. You already have permission. You already have access to operate in it. Now, you’re just going to have it so when you go to operate it’ll be there for you.

I love this!  Then He says, “You will be my witnesses.” Revelation tells us something. A witness is a testimony. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony, and we love not our lives even unto death. What He was saying to the disciples is, “When I’ve finished and you get filled with the Holy Ghost and you have power! You’re going to get a testimony! He said, “When I get finished with you and you get power, you’re going to have a testimony! You’re going to have evidence! You’re going to be my witnesses because you’re going to have evidence that your testimony is going to lead you to. You’re going to believe what I said was true!

Now, they haven’t gotten it yet. They haven’t raised the dead. They haven’t seen these miracles. But, He was telling them, “I’m going to do it for you. I’m going to get it for you! All you’ve got to do is do what I tell you. And wait.” If you wait it’s already been promised!

We will continue on Monday! Have a great weekend!
