Stiff-necked meant they couldn’t be guided. He called them “heathen and uncircumcised in your heart and ears, and actively resisting the Holy Spirit”. No wonder God’s not doing greater things in some of your lives. No wonder there aren’t more miracles happening. When you actively resist the Holy Spirit, you stop him from healing your marriage or changing your circumstances.

Being stiff-necked causes us to resist the Holy Spirit, and we go find something that we can control.  People get hung up in religion, because in religion you don’t ever do what religion tells you, you tell religion what you want. That’s why some people run out of the church when we start moving in the gifts and the power of God. It’s not what they’re used to. They’re used to a church that they can control. It’s called religion! When you have religion you have what you want, how you want it, and when you want it. But, when you come into a Holy Ghost ‘power house’ of a church that’s operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, then you’re subject to the power of God showing up, and God saying things that you don’t like.  Making you feel uncomfortable. Making you get convicted. See, in those religious places, it’s all about, “I’m okay. You’re okay.”
