Psalm 23:3 says that He refreshes and He restores my soul.  “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me…” He has revived and refreshed my soul. Romans 1:18-19, “The wrath of God is being revealed from Heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.” God has shown us and caused us to know in our inner conscience, who He is.

Our mind, will and emotions have the ability to oppress and push down something that would contradict what the soul wants. Jesus said it this way: The soul (the flesh) is weak but the spirit is willing. A lot of people live a carnal life, and they’re always struggling. The Word says that if you walk in the Spirit you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. Lamentations 1:11, “All people sigh. They seek bread.” It’s talking about God’s Word. “They have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul. See, Oh Lord, and consider, for I have become vile.” It’s saying that the only thing that can really bring my soul any refreshing or restoration is the fact that I strongly eat meat. I eat good meat of the Word. The absence of this Word causes your soul to dominate and your spirit man to get weak. And, because you don’t eat good meat, you’re not growing in the things of God.
