The Battle to Worship: The Lord Sabaoth

What we have is religion trying to separate the two. A religion and a cult will try to set it up where what you do is, you only worship and there is no war mentioned. Or, you only are in war and worship is not a part of you. Let’s look at some scripture to help us build on this.

2nd Corinthians 6:3-6 NAS, “…giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited, but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,  in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger, in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love…”

Whoa! That’s a mouthful! Then it says, “In the Word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left…” Now, that’s interesting. This whole portion that Paul speaks of here… He says to give no cause for offence in anything so the ministry will not be discredited… In much evidence. I’ve been preaching on Thursday nights, “These Signs Shall Follow Them That Believe”. We have to become people who offer evidence to our commitments. We must offer people that want to have some questions answered some kind of solution to what we say we believe. We can’t just say, “Praise the Lord!” We must offer some kind of evidence. Give me evidence that you’re God is God.

I had a Chinese woman where I was teaching in a Chinese class in a college in Canton, China. This woman came to me after class and said, “How do I know your God is God?” There’s a whole world out there… We’ve had generations without prayer. We’ve had generations without God in our society, that are now in America asking, “Who is Jesus?”

In my time if you asked that you would be considered a moron, or crazy. When I grew up as a kid, I don’t care whether you wanted Jesus or not, everybody knew who Jesus was. Today, there are people who honestly don’t know who Jesus is. Some come from other countries, of course. Some come from other religions and faiths, so they have this perplexity going on in their life. They’ve been taught methodically about every other kind of god and they don’t really know about Jesus. Elohim. They don’t know who He is. They don’t know who the Messiah is. I don’t mean personally. I just mean from an historical position. There are generations in our churches who don’t know who Jesus is. Because, many of our churches, today, stopped preaching about Jesus.
