Abraham finds himself hearing God and what does he do? Falls on his face. I’m worried that God’s people have lost the fear of God and don’t honor God. We don’t know how to respect God. We don’t know how to respect God’s servants. That’s how I know you don’t know how to respect God. We’ve lost the fear of God, the holiness of God, the awe of God. Because we want to be relevant, we’ve compromised. We’ve turned the church into an entertainment center. We thought we could sing our way out of problems. We could sing our way out of sin. We thought if we get close to the enemy by dressing like it, we might be accepted by him.

Abraham fell on his face and God said to him, Genesis 17:4, “As for me, behold, my covenant, solemn pledge, is with you and you shall be the father of many nations. Nor shall your name any longer be Abram, highly exalted father, but your name shall be Abraham, father of multitudes. For I have made you the father of many nations. And I will make you exceedingly fruitful and I will make nations of you and kings will come from you. I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. It will be for the everlasting solemn pledge to be God to you and to your posterity after you. And I will give to you and to your posterity after you the land in which you are a stranger going from place to place, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

He’s saying, “Not only your God, Abraham, but I will be their God. Because I give them the land.” They had to fight to get that promise. The land is what God blesses. The earth is the Lord’s. He blessed the land and said if you get there, Canaan, you conquer the ‘ites’, you’re going to get there and I’m going to bless you and all the people. That’s why Abraham getting there through the process of coming down, and Moses, and getting there… All the promises of God coming to bear was because Israel, in 1947, 1967, and then recently in 2017 when President Trump assigned Jerusalem, once again, as the capital. All that is still that God said, “I’m going to bless the people”.
